Turns out if we all ordered from valve we would have gotten the things much much earlier and better support.

Took 8 days from Valve order to delivery at my door. Received them Dec. 4th 2019, 5 months ago.

Indeed, that May 24th date is when they intend to begin mass-production.

My interpretation is more along the line “we are pretty sure, we will not start before May 24th.” with no indication when that might be. But after all, we are all futurists here, so no further explanation is necessary. Could be confusing for newcomers though.

On June 12th:

After full production scale pilot we have uncovered some small issues. We are satisfied enough that we will start the next step which is the production scale test run on Jun 24th

Then July 12th:

After production scale test run we have uncovered some small issues. We are satisfied enough that we will start the next step which is the production scale final test run on July 24th

Then August 12th:

After production scale final test run we have uncovered some small issues. We are satisfied enough that we will start the next step which is the first production of backer units on August 24th

Lol just kidding, but that is how it feels like whats happening these past months.
