Oculus Errors after installing PiSetup_1.1.74

Hello,

I have a Windows 10 64-bit Pro and a Nvidia GTX 1080 (disabled internal graphics)

I am having an issue after preforming another re-install to try to get direct mode to work. I uninstalled, Oculus runtime and drivers, SteamVR and Steam, Pimax. I even went to make sure the directories were not left behind. I installed PiSetup_1.1.74_x64(int’l) and have not been able to get the PiDesktop application to start. PiDesktop and PiService show as running inside my taskmanager, as is PiServiceLauncher. When I check my Event Viewer I have tons of the error below being generated every second.

Please Help,
Thank you.

The description for Event ID 0 from source OculusVR cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Error: [From Service] {ERR-026} [Settings] WARNING: Unable to write settings file: ͈ȷ/Oculus/NetServer.cfg

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

Not sure if your problem is the same as what I had, but I found that I had to uninstall any java that’s installed, also the Pimax as well, then reinstall the Pimax software, and don’t click on the install Java if it asks you to.
You can always do so after you have successfully installed the software, and it should open upon clicking on the icon. If it doesn’t open with the shortcut on your desktop, it will from the taskbar.
All I know it caused havoc to my PC.

Thank you!

Re-installing Java did the trick! Must have been a corrupt java config entry for Pimax. I uninstalled Pimax Oculus and Java. I deleted all left over folders for Pimax and java programs in Users\Appdata…etc and ProgramFiles Program Data and Windows folders. I reinstalled Pimax started it up and I am in direct mode for the first time ever!!

Thank you,
Now if only this program can work on my Windows Server 2012 R2 Drive

Update: Checked the event viewer and the entries are still coming up. The Pimax program says it is in PiMax mode now though. I am installing Steam now and will still check it out.
