first i’m hearing of this? what did she do? (don’t explain here just link it in a PM
pain points are far to many over and over again
on how many occasions have they and will they try to nforce things and only crawl back when they get caught in the public?
I’m not melodramatic, it’s just a slightly exaggerated analogy when HW vendors try to dictate what media is writing instead of letting the goods and the market speak for themselves. In a globalized market where only the money rules and no governments btw.
“you do not see things the same way that we, gamers, and the rest of the industry do”
that I’d say is melodramatic of Brian Del Rizzo in order to threaten reviewers. He completely ignores that HWunboxed and all the other reviewers he tries to aim at with his letter are part of “rest of the industry”.
I for my take support Sakuriro on this
I guess posting the completely irrelevant video with Linus Torvalds finger kind of proves the opposite.
I bet that is at least partly true.
That said, demanding reviewers emphasize non-rasterization performance is not just seriously shady, it’s outright cheating. Screwing over your most loyal customers cheating.
NVIDIA did very bad by doing nothing for VR multi-GPU, and not offering any way to more than double performance.
was just for proving my point citing a well known story - that company has some evil karma for yrs now. They just don’t really show a change to this point in time.
Steve of HWunboxed put it nicely togehter “NV PR team should stop acting lice crazed fan boys with piss poor arguments n get a grip on reality … crap like this simply wont fly anymore…”
Maybe, but it is part of the history of Nvidia saying one thing then doing something else.
Nvidia long ago even with Multi-gpu by restricting what cards could have SLI.
I do disagree with comparing them to “evil” as this is not something like child labor sweatshops. Just maybe shady business practices towards the public.
That I am ok with. Not even making it useful on the top-end cards - which is precisely where SLi/Multi-GPU are needed - in not ok.
They only did that restricting as they didn’t want folks to be able to use sli as an upgrade.
Personally imho it is a poor practice. However with Nvidia discontinuing it now entirely it may give Amd the edge needed if they get there new gpus working well which unfortunately would be a first since they had an edge for a short time with the hd7000 gcn1 cards.
Where was Nvidia saying one thing and then doing something else - in this particular case, or in the Linus story? Do not twist the story to prove the point.
Nvidia has often said there committed to helping opensource however have done very little to help things like Nouveau the opensource Nvidia driver. No twist there. You can’t be commited to help and often twiddle there thumbs.
Hence Linus’ reaction to Nvidia.
seeing how DLSS allowed even cyberpunk to run with ray tracing by halving the requirements in Vorpx.
Leads me to believe when DLSS can be used in more VR games. Performance will go theough the roof.
Imagine outputting 3000+ per eye but only needing to actually SS to 1500+ per eye.
hehe you still beating that Linux Horse?
Don’t need ti beat it. It is the most used OS in the world.
All great, but unfortunately does nothing for existing applications like DCS World. If we had the software of tomorrow, we would always be able to do more with the best hardware of yesterday, so it’s no excuse for withholding hardware we need.
Not only that, but with MacOS essentially being UNIX compatible, meaning both iOS and Android are UNIX, basically MSW is a very, very niche, and very painfully arcane operating system.
My understanding is the whole premise of MSW was to create a ‘cheaper’, worse OS, for market segmentation purposes. And now that has outlived its usefulness at least two decades.
Maybe the old @$$ engines should be the ones to keep up with the software of tommorow if they dont want to be left behind.
Bring on DCS2 already. Cpus have more than 1 core.
Im not sure if DCS engine could add DLSS or not. Would they need to submit their game to nvidia or something?
