That cuda core count is insane.

I’d love to go for the 3090 but it only looks a smidgen faster than the 3080 but at more than double the cost. I might settle for a 3rd party 20GB edition of the 3080 if such a thing is proven to exist.

I meant 2080ti (used) instead of the 3070 with 8GB.

Personally i’m going to upgrade my pascal titans to a 3090 as well.

I think It’s worth waiting to see that’s on offer for sure. a 20GB 3080 sounds amazing.

damn, so a 3070 is more powerful than a 2080Ti at $500 US?

damn my resale value just tanked.

im gonna check to see the wanted section, prior to this unveil people were asking for 2080Ti’s for $1000 CAD

i bet you it’s dropped now.

I nearly sold my 1080 ti for £450 two weeks ago. Don’t think i’m going to get that any more. Haha. Oh well, at least the 3080 is a good bit cheaper than I expected.

Id be surprised if the 3070 is THAT good, but it’ll be close i bet.

I’m a bit cheaper than some folks on here for sure, but this is why I’d never buy the top end gpu. 500-800 dollar sweet spot baybayy

If you are doing any simulation - DCS World, XPlane 11, etc (or even Elite Dangerous if that continues to exist at all) - stuff - then the extra performance of the 3090 will be a massive difference in visual quality.

That is, if the 3090 actually does get over that ‘double the overclocked RTX 2080 Ti’ threshold. I am eagerly awaiting to find that out…

More than doubling the number of CUDA cores was unexpected. It remains to be seen if these CUDA cores are not some marketing diversion to raytracing cores or such, and actually reflect rasterized performance.
