Hi,
I just received my pimax, but I can’t get it to work. Installed it and nothing happens.
Wether it’s HDMI, usb 2 or 3 , it’s not found at all “device is disconnected”. I tried reinstalling the software; pushing on/off button, but I get “device is disconnected”.
reinstalled the pimax with antivirus off.
Any hints? Should it display a default screen when powered? I have nothing.
About the HDMI input, can I hotplug it ?

nope, unless is extended mode (you should set the piplay to “pimax mode”). Default screen in pimax mode will be displayed when the steamvr will be enabled, however piplay should find device first.

i would simply disconnect the device (completely), ensure that the pimax is set in to “pimax mod” and the 2k resolution in settings is enabled, restart pc, connect device, start software.

I’ve not seen the pimax in piplay yet, it tells “device is disconnected”. When I push the “ON” button of the pimax, I can see that piplay searches for device then I get the error:
“the network is not well right now, please try again. we are sorry for inconveniencing you”.
Do you need to connect USB AND HDMI At the same time? I think that’s what’s missing… I try it
ok now I have discovered pimax in piplay 
Now i’m struggling to get steamvr to recognize it … even in direct mode, it doesnt find it
Should work very well.
Start steam. Start steamvr (top right corner) from your steam. Thats all.
No need to start it from piplay. As soon piplay could recognize device - it can be closed.

Thanks again for help, but unfortunately that’s not what happened. I had to uninstall steamvr (although files of steamvr were correctly checked by steam) and reinstall steamvr to get the detection of helmet in steamvr.
