Didn’t they say by the end backers would know exactly how much we would save to upgrade to the new headsets? Did I miss the discount value? All I caught was the controller value + $50 if you had Kickstarted for those, and the $100 coupon that backers got. What’s the base discount value?

The only thing iam really happy about is at least the Basestation will be shipped in 3 Month or so…
Eyetracking 199$ for backers is a joke.
The Headstrap is missing the frontpart which is 50$ extra
Controllers are not ready for a long time if i want to change i have to pay up to get the Valve Knuckles.
cooling fan will not be shipped unless we ask for it
same goes for the prescription lenses you have to ask for it to be shipped.
Extra facecushion no word about or i missed it.

They had the time to work on 5 new Headsets but do they really expect that i invest more money in PImax as long as they don’t fullfill their Kickstarter comitments?

Meh , so basically they lie about streach goal nr 4 and wants us to stay their customer again ?!. Sorry but this not like mature consumer market works plus they want too munch. Simply too expensive !

I am backer >5000. I waited for the goal to be reached , this was part of my decision.
It is a dealbreaker and they have to take their responsibility. So they have to offer another alternative to us.

I was surprised to see the eye tracker (around $500 price in 2017) as a gift and that’s why I became a backer. Obviously, no one is going to give such expensive gift in such quantity, but now we have a great topic to discuss their another business f…kup.

@PimaxUSA @SweViver, In the live stream you mentioned rugged edition “RE” on request, Where do i request the “RE” version?
Would be a bandwidth limit imposed by the displayport connection, I’d surmise.
What it does imply, though, is that there may be a measure of flexibility and programmability to the scaler after all, if it can composite a smaller image to part of the screen, and then rises from the grave the old question of whether we could have had some degree of optimised-for-anisotropy-and-lens-properties transport all along…

Yes they really need to work on making sure these headsets are not just wrap around 3D screens close to your head. Using the Index and Reverb after the Pimax and there is a massive difference in VR perception. The scaling problem and distortions need fixing to give a sense of proper VR immersion.

Still don’t see the difference between 90 and 120 from when I have compared it on the index. It doesn’t really matter anyway if your gpu can’t do 120fps to make it smooth either…I think it’s more mental or people who are wired that way. I really feel in my personal experience 90hz is sufficient to be smooth.

I agree, but some people really swear by it. Like Linus from LTT, in the review he put out about the Rift S yesterday he bashed it for being 80Hz. Giving people options is always a good thing.

They didn’t say the exact discount but he did say it would be “substantial” plus you can use the coupon as well instead of one other modules if you choose.

agreed but 80 vs 90 is a big difference according to palmer back in the day, he said after 90 there were diminishing returns.
