Full of endless delays, excuses, confusing messages, and lack of concrete information, or timelines.
Does anyone else feel like there is something really off about Pimax? There are many red flags, but things like their latest prototypes having the same issues as the earliest one’s, and also being worse. Usually, a product gets better and better with each new prototype as you fix issues, but the Pimax 8k doesn’t improve. It feels like they put on Kickstarter a product that didn’t even exist yet, and used the money to try to make a headset, not knowing whether it would work, or not. I get that some people use Kickstarter that way, but that is not what Pimax sold as their pitch.
I know most people will ignore the Pimax 8k original release date of January 2018, saying no one expected it then, and Kickstarters are usually a year late, but that still shouldn’t be so easily accepted. That is really messed up of a company to do. To bolster a Kickstarter with a release date that they know for a fact they cannot meet, for a product that does not exist.
I’ve never been part of a failed Kickstarter, and I am willing to accept my money may be gone, but I am just curious if anyone else feels it.
I was part of the Oculus Rift DK1 Kickstarter, and it felt much different. The communication was honest, and consistent. Pimax either lies, stretches the truth, glosses over things, straight out ignores real questions/answers, and placates people with generic updates, and many people are just happy to go along with it.
Pimax needs to give a concrete timeline of when delivery is going to happen, or be honest about where they really are in the process, and what is going on. If the fact is they need another year of development, then they need to say it.
What can we do as a community to band together and force Pimax to be an honest company? It feels ridiculous that we even have to do that.
Can we upvote this post to stay at the top, and show that we are united and want real answers from Pimax.
