I cannot play oculus games..( lone echo works and stormland) but with asgard wrath and phantom ops the image goes crazy on the pimax 8kx

i cannot play oculus games…(only lone echo works) the rest the image goes crazy on the pimax 8kx…

i tried asgard wrath and phantom ops but the image goes crazy… i am on the latest pitool beta and also on the latest firmware…

I tried to go back to pitool 262 but there its exactly the same,what could this be?

i can try,but the image is wobbling like crazy… if the whole pimax headset is losing tracking

It only does this on the X? If so try upscale mode and or lower pitool render multiplier. Has Oculus Home recently updated?

yes only on the pimax 8kx,its very strange because lone echo and stormland are working normal…
i will try a lower pitool render multiplier.
Upscale mode wont work on my unit,i get on black eye then

Interesting. Wonder if it is similar than to UE games where before had to set pitool render under ×1.0 to run or it would glitch error. Might be requesting too much res maybe?

nope still the same problem,i tried it at pitool 0.75 and 0.50… both didnt work… a pitty

Definitely something they will want to look into.

i hope they can fix it,because that two games will look good on the 8kx when it works

It’s not specific to the 8kX, I get it on my 5k+ and it’s been reported in the Pitool section here :

Maybe try posting there so they can gather more information.

Try launching the oculus games in different ways. Try manual launch from pitool, inside steam vr home, in the pe. I kept trying different launch options and eventually it worked. Don’t remember which one it was.

This is a known issue not just with 8kX but across the board.

Only solution apparently is to use PiTool 261 or lower

EDIT: I can confirm that 8KX on Pitool 261 works with Asgards Wrath and It looks FABULOUS! @john2910
