@deletedpimaxrep1 ,
> It looks like the HTC Vive is about to get a big visual update .
Seems to suggest that some form of update to Vive’s display resolution ¿maybe 4K? ¿8K?
Points to a January 8th reveal, which is the day that Vive hosts its CES 2018 press conference.

CES 2018 is gonna be all about VR. Honestly i don’t give a f**k about others technologies not VR-RELATED. All i care and i will care from now on is VR/AR.

I’ll even take 4Kx2 and stow it away until a GPU can handle it in Elite/DCS.

If HTC go and release a small upgrade like 1600p displays to match the oddysey their a bunch of fuckin idiots
This is why I hope Pimax succeed with a solid product. You have these two giants who think they own the market and can drip feed us any crap they want
HTC was nothing but a no name cell phone manufacturer 2 years ago. Facebook is Facebook. We need a specialist making this stuff

HTC was top of the line in cell phones 10 years ago. They are not a no-name, not even slightly. Before Iphone crap HTC was it.

I know I brought two of them and they lasted a few months
According to their teaser it looks more like a lense upgrade. The new valve lenses most likely with a small bump in resolution

As @Davobkk said, i think this is more of a display of the improved lenses, which makes the display focused and not blurry in ALL parts of the lens. I HOPE this is the same kind of lenses that pimax are using, since both are from valve…right? pimax took a bit of lens help from valve, true or am i talking out of my butt?

Completely talking out your butt… The lenses Valve is licensing support a field of view between 85 and 120 degrees.

To me it looks like FOV-eated technology is all about . I can’t see any figures in that picture , just a date and a fov-eated image.
Nobody knows. They could have made some breakthroughs in rendering.
Hopefully LG will reveal something too
Find out in 2 days
