BTW Thanks for all the tips Mr uu!
you mention a way to stream to my quest from pc, but cant it already do that via skybox etc?
It’s a cool piece of hardware too…
I currently use my Quest more than my Pimax 5K+ due to the freedom of not being attached by a cable
Enjoy
Thanks! as ive only ever used gearvr im sure ill love the upgrade
Definitely. It’s a very nice headset!
afaik you can use the provided cable already for an link usb2.0 connection. should work.
regarding the wireless connection: i never tried it, but it was a hot topic when it came up. even mrtv made a video about it:
Quest via PC
As i do use my quest only occasionally i do not know skybox.
Yeah i also seen on youtube that Virtual Desktop has almost made the cable obsolete anyway, as long as your internet is fast enough, but I’ll test that theory when it arrives
My personal recomendation for inexpensive quality movie watching isn’t a pimax headset. Check out the Odyssey+, I have one of those as well. It’s OLED, for great colours and blacks, and has an amazing diffusion screen (no SDE at all).
Decently comfortable, and easy to adjust for comfort. Decent over ear sound. It’s inside out tracking, which isn’t great for gaming, but that makes no difference for movies. Because it’s a WMR headset, and doesn’t have insanely high res screens (but more than fine to enjoy 1080p movies, which look great), it has low spec requirements. Comes with a pair of comfy controllers. If yout wait for a sale, it goes on sale crazy cheap, like sub $200 bucks.
edit guess I missed the post that you got the quest there… also a good choice. For movie watching the OLED screen is a huge factor.
It works really, really well and they’re even implementing hand-tracking support.
One thing though is to make it work, You buy and install it from the Oculus store and then You install a patch on top of it using SideQuest:

Oh, and it’s Your wireless speed that matters…
Yeah i saw you can enable hand tracking in experimental features already, sounds awesome for more casual control.
Yeah one time purchase for VD and those other few steps, sounds worth it though for sure compared to the link cable which is ridiculously priced lol
And true you need good wifi speed i may have to invest in an upgrade for that too one day
You can use any USB-A to USB-C cable now… It doesn’t even have to be USB 3…
Just try whatever You have. It might be enough…
Ah really thats awesome ill give it a shot, i have a usb3-c already for my galaxy cable if thats the same
That should probably work…
If You have a USB-C port on Your PC (some newer graphics cards have that) You can even use the cable that comes with the Quest.
