I may have gotten a bad unit. The left headphone has no sound coming out of it regardless of the sound source. I tried plugging them in backwards. When the headphone is plugged into the right side port it works as well as the right side headphone. Plugged into it’s own port, it does not work at all.
Is there a “reset” for this, or do I have a defective unit I need to send back. I just pulled this out of the box a couple of hours ago.
Thanks! I figured out that I can plug ear buds into the port that is working and get stereo. So, I’m happy with that as a solution. The bigger problem I’m facing now is finding a vr video player that actually works with a game controller and the Pimax. I’m loving the higher resolution, but the lack of a good video player is becoming a real problem. Whirliwhig is the only video player that seems to work well, but it gives me nothing but a black screen with the PiMax.
Hi Guys,
Rather than start a new discussion, I was wondering if any of you are having issues with playing 360 Videos following the upgrade of Windows 10 to the Creators version?
Everything else works but my 360 Videos in my Piplay library just won’t play as the player doesn’t start.
Support are looking into it but I thought I would ask here as well.
what are the file type of the video you are using and what player are you using. you might need to reassign the file type to the player in the default apps.
click START> type DEFAULT APP SETTINGS - press enter.
the click on the SET DEFAULTS BY APP (should be the bottom option on the page you opened.
let the list build… will take a bit depending on how many apps you have.
then navigate to the APP that is your VIDEO PLAYER
click it once then click SET THIS PROGRAM AS DEFAULT
Everything works as before except for AutoVRPlayer.
It’s just an inconvenience really because I can watch the 360 videos with the SimpleVR Player in Steam.
I disconnected Pimax before I let Windows restart my PC. It restarts several times during the update and I didn’t want the Pimax hardware to complicate things.
.
I decided to bite the bullet now because sooner or later it has to happen and perhaps I can provide some feedback to Pimax support about any issues that may relate to the update.
Hi lukeb, I know what the default player is… I was trying to work out if the auto vr player is actually trying launch or if the creators update has changed the default player back to the win10 default player with creators update. Creators update is a new version not just a patch, so your windows installation has been renamed to windows_old on the c drive and a new version is installed. Which will have all the windows default apps reset back.
