For Skyrim VR then StarVR One is the way to go if large FOV is desired!

I like my FOV but I also very much like my resolution so I’m willing to compromise. Normal view in my 8k loaner is ok for most things, I just want the resolution up a tad to make texts easier (please 8kx work for me) to read and I’ll be a happy vr’er until someone makes a star vr with 16k panels and perfect, uncrushing, blacks.

And I like my skyrim modded too. Maybe I should try the Wabbajack package which i hadn’t heard about until now. Currently I only have 90 mods installed because it’s so easy to break stuff.

So I installed the ultimate vr essentials modpack using Wabbajack software and wow the game looks really good. Outside the resolution is a bit lacking and I’m getting 35 to 45fps reprojection but indoors, particularily inside caves I get a smooth 72fps, and wow the graphics are so incredible. Comparable to the graphics of HL: Alyx on the Valve Index. Even better than the StarVR optimized Showdown demo. The field of view is super immersive.

I also played aircar for a bit and that blew my mind. Flying around the city in a car with that full field of view and smooth performance of mostly 65 to 90fps felt like I was reliving VR again.

Right now I’m trying to get the fps performance improved in Skyrim outside world before I make a video. I also want to get the racing sims performing well too on this headset.

When I changed maxRecommendedResolution to 12288 instead of 16384, the graphics actually seemed to look a bit better oddly.

There is a way to increase the resolution’s distance with “Skyrim Tweaker” With the option “neardistance” from the default of 5 up to 13.

Did this ENB come with the ultimate vr essentials pack?

…I am not sure

whaaaat? Better than the Showdown demo??? Damn, I gotta try this one out then! Are you gonna try to get rid of the pop in as well for Skyrim?

No, is not better that Showdown. There still mura, but is very good.
BTW, I dont see culling issues on Skyrim.

Asgard Wrath looks almost as good as the Showdown demo. framerate is the issue

It’s better than the showdown demo, but only inside a Skyrim cave. The mods just optimized it so well that the clarity is really good. Outside of the cave and inside buildings it is less than showdown demo. Also reminder i’m using maxRecommendedResolution line in steamvr.settings file.

Yes, also Asgard’s Wrath looks really good. I just hope we can make the framerate better. I’ll look into the pop ins for Skyrim but since it is so far in the extreme peripheral, I don’t really notice them.

You seem to have the XR unit. It doesnt look good on it?

I love the fov and the oled blacks on the pimax xr , but interms of resolution and clarity it isnt enough for me , especially not for 8k textures . I need the 8k X unit and the Titan ampere with 24gb of vram . 11gb vram is not enough as you can see . I was using the oculus rift cv1 in this video and my vram usage was maxed out oO

Then, do not get the StarVR one. If clarity is the main, then wait till the 8kX

I would love to own both units
The large fov isnt big enough for me on the pimax , I wanna have the competetive advantage in contractors …I love this game and since it does work on the star vr one without any issues , its my dream vr headset . 90hz and 210 degree fov are awesome in this title. Cant wait for native support of the bhaptics vest in contractors btw

I don’t know what is contractor. But you must know the limitations. At the moment is has limitations from poor game optimization with Mura issues and lack of wide FOV with Parallel Projection. There are some games that look good, but is a hit or miss. As long you are OK with those limitations then ok. If you also decide on developing for it, then makes it more the worthwhile. Also to get best performance it requires to have dual GPU, one GPU for each eye

A titan ampere might be enough since it has 24 terraflops of raw computing power ( Single Precision (FP32) )

I meant this game :

I will look deeply into those game that actually do work really well with the star vr one before I will make my final decision

Does Lone Echo work well with the star vr one btw ?

Lone Echo does not work. The image does not Converge properly.

How do you know that Contractor works with StarVR?
