Tried in Elite Dangerous, but it didn’t work for me. That was with the gyro in the Pimax disabled. The game doesnt allow you to use headlook mode when it detects a HMD.
I think Pimax needs to be able to take 3rd party x/y/z cordinates and use them instead of just disabling the gyroscope. They Pixma Gyro drift and ite pretty bad experience. Every 30 seconds I need to recentre. Its very hard to use in any game.
@PIMAX-Support would it be possible to somehow take the signal from edTracker and use via pixma software? Not all games give control to use 3rd party head tracking and most of the time they will prioritize HMD.

Hi Dariusz, well noted with thanks.
Regarding “Every 30 seconds need to recentre”, could I ask what’s the version of Piplay & Firmware you used? I think Piplay 1.2.53 & Firmware 1.0.0.248 have already improved this issue much.
As for 3rd party X/Y/Z coordinates, it could not be used at present, but my engineers tell me that they would consider your good suggestion in further version.
@PIMAX-Support Thank you for your reply!
yes I’m using latest firmware/piplay. Sadly my unit seems to be drifting a lot. Even when watching a movie, yesterday I tried avatar. After 2-3 mins my head was tilted to right to keep up the screen in crentre :- (
3Rd part software would help a lot. But they have to take the values off edTracker (for example) and treat them as their own when sending to game. Most of my games have no control over HMD so I can’t specify a different HMD controler :- (
On a side note, thank you for this amazing product. Really something, I did not expect to like it that much !

nudge.
Also having giro drift, using firmware 1.0.0.251 and piplay 1.2.57.
would be good if this could be sorted soon as it completely messes with games and movies, kind of defeats the purpose of a good video player or hmd for gaming if you are constantly having to recenter the center focal point.,
Yes i am facing north, although being in NZ i cant get much closer to the south pole!
maybe that pole should be my starting point?!?

Hi sorry to answer to a older thread but did not find a better one already opened.
Anyway I just ordere a Pimax 4k and while waiting for it to arrive I am doing a little bit of research here…
My first use for the Pimax will be flight simulators (mainly DCS World and Il2 Sturmovik both with VR support)
right now I use a Track IR 5 with 6dof and obviously a 2D display.
Now my question:
Lacking the pimax 6dof would be possible for your engineers to implement a sort of “mixed” mode, I will try to do an example, the track ir is great for 6dof but is not practical to use 1:1 mode with a 2d display because
What I mean is if the Pimax software would be able (with your wonderful developing team) to take the gyro input for the three axis from the Pimax and mix it with the other three axis coming from the track-ir software so you could have
Thanks in advance for any response and keep your good work which I am following
hoping for the same thing! See: http://community.openmr.ai/t/opentrack-integration-for-pimax-4k/2127/15
Cool…i hope it could be done…probably the best thing for 6dof is nolovr…but it costs 199…i have already track ir so, if i could use it would be great
Hi friend, thanks for your kind suggestion. I have not received a new response from our engineers but I will push it again
thanks…
i know this is not the best play to do, but i just wanto to let you know that i received my pimax right now and i am stunned by the details in image (in respect to oculus rift) as already all knows for me the only downside is the lack of 6dof that in the cockpits of my flight sims would be beautiful…
