I don’t necessarily agree with some of his complaints but I will translate anyway. In summary he’s complaining about his experience:

  • There is a spot on the lenses now.
  • Tried support, which is polite and responsive but they don’t offer any actual solutions.
  • After a while they actually offered him $45 in exchange for not fixing them.
  • Bad ghosting and motion blur. Very uncomfortable - actually ridiculous.
  • No head tracking, even though it was promised time and again.
  • The image and re-scaling is actually very good, but expected more from the company.
  • The last update screwed up the resolution, and then engineers go on vacation - what a joke.
  • Not happy at all with the product. Will sell it.

This is to the Pimax developers.

The Pimax 4k has some serious issues that MUST be fixed.

This is the only chance you’ll have to make or break you company’s reputation.

Most people on this forum have a lot of good will towards Pimax 4k, but I doubt that many would risk more money purchasing Pimax 8K if you don’t take care of the issues with Pimax 4K.

You are taking far too long fixing the issues pointed out on this forum and you don’t report your progress often enough.

You should have someone from the company post an update every couple of days so that people know that something is being done about their concerns.

A terrible disappointment at all levels, the management of the guarantee is regrettable, they have been laughing at me and playing with me for a month and there has been no solution, it is very sad that a product with these possibilities fall into these mistakes! !!! the warranty does not exist in any case !!!. I feel cheated and I do not think I will ever trust your products again.

Just back to check these forums after a few months and to no surprise the same issues are present.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME with the pimax 4K, their support will string you along for days and weeks and never actually fix the internal HARDWARE problems, which, cannot be fixed by software updates.

I returned mine months ago after using it just for a few days, gearbest refunded me but would not cover return shipping cost ($40) which is horrible.

If you have any issues RETURN IT TO GEARBEST right away and recover your money. The SAME ISSUES are present after months. (centre lens blur, motion blurring, not clear, disconnecting…, faulty software , not 100% compatible with all Windows versions) etc…

I think that you are " little " too hard. actually center lens blur is solve. I got number 1006 batch product pimax, and image is clear, I do not wear glasses and my eyes vision is very good, got 12/10 per eyes.

motion blurring exist when you have a light configuration, and more in depend of the software you use. for exemple when I launch “unity chan” from piplay software, everything is perfect. When I launch Project cars from steam vr in 2560/1440p I have a horrible motion blur. And more steam vr use artefact in order to reduce poor fps, and that the problem. when I play with vereio software ( version 2.1.6), no ghosting effect even if I have low fps. so it really depend of software
I’m agree with you, sometime I have to,switch of my pimax, or reboot my computer, in order to use correctly my hmd, This is sad but I consider pimax 4k like a oculus dk1 UHD.
Furthermore everybody know that when we buy from china when we have a hardware failure, at least we have to pay transport for return, this the deal for a very good price!
Finaly I understand chapeka about is hardware failure. Pimax or Gearbest have to repair the HMD, and just give 45$ and tell sorry it’s a shame

When you have a hardware problem and you throw 1 month laughing at you, you will see if it is exaggerated or not, the only thing that solve are the software problems, until there comes the guarantee, gerabest is not responsible for anything and PIMAX less, claiming Which are just the manufacturer.

I do agree with alot of what your saying. As i have said VR in general is Beta as standards are in flux between software & hardware philosphies.

While i have extremely limited experience with Gearbest(1 purchase). I have several purchases through DX.com ( Main issue i have had is actual ship time); Dx seemsvto stand by what they sell better.

Gearbest also has more than China Warehouses if i recall they also have a US one.

While language maybe part of thr problem; there is seemingly clear times this team are ignoring issues folks have posted.

  1. Individual who has blurred optics that was outside of the “affected” batch. Instead of promotly addressing this and sending new lenses. Was simply told yours are fine.

  2. Several issues presented with no “Roadmap” on proposed timeline on fixes. Ie Farsighted folks of whom a simple manual focus adjust redesign being worked on with perhaps a small cost to purchase improved goggle shell with details on transfering guts to new shell.

Understand Jaydee; i am quite happy with my experience. I would like to see PiMax make the real impact in VR as they do have the beginnings of making what could be the best affordable VR showing just how much Vive & Oculus are trying to gouch us.

In the similar fashion that chinese mfg like Oneplus has shown how much a flagship quality phone could sell for.
