Clarifying Near IPD x Distant IPD confusion

Keep in mind that if your eyes focus on an object close by that your irises will get closer, so your IPD lower. Always focus on a point in the distance when measuring IPD

i did read how to do it properly, i did focus on a point ~8m away
in theory it should have delivered the same result but it did not and i did not see what went wrong

I found this site Contact Express IPD tool turned to be quite accurate when I checked with the optician that had made a pair of glasses for me

the website does not tell you where to look, there should be a difference if you look on to the phone or somewhere far away (near ipd, “normal” ipd)
but if your optician measured it then it should be ok
maybe try this one too, takes just a few minutes

There is an alignment relation between the lips and the iris, not sure how accurate that would be.

So how do we go about this?

With 66mm IPD,

physically: set the lenses to 1.5m distance focus, probably around 61mm.
softwareside: increase PiTool’s IPD offset upwards, like +5mm?

Is that correct?
