Catalyst at 10.00 before starting VR works perfectly, don't touch it once SteamVR has started, 100% gpu usage and perfect image

It may be that the CPU time is better used by the Piservice instead of the game, if the distortion profiles and all the other bits are being delayed because the game is getting priority that could cause stutter

Before we devote too much more time to this, its worth reading this thread:
https://community.openmr.ai/t/gpu-catalytic-function-can-be-fixed/29474

Yeah I read all that but the point of this thread is that I had that problem only when I changed the catalyst while steamVr was running, otherwise if it was set prior and I hit the fps cap then it was perfect

I tried this out and got a significant performance uplift in IL2 Sturmovik. +36%, but unfortunately tearing/glitches in both eyes on the displays. Maybe a new version of PiTool that allows the performance boost, but fixes the glitching, can be really good.

Details:

Intel 8086K @ 4.9ghz, AVX offset 0, 3600-CAS16 RAM
EVGA RTX 2080 XC Ultra, “stock” (factory OC, no specific settings)

IL2 Sturmovik 4.008, custom “Alonzo benchmark track” 2 minutes.
FRAPS for framerate recording, Chili method.

Pimax Artisan.
Pitool RQ 1.0, SteamVR SS 100%, Parallel Projection Off, 2320x2104 per eye resolution.
120hz mode, smart smoothing off.
