I have a 4k headset in the 100xxxx series that has previously worked. However, after restarting the headset after a display issue (alternating black horizontal lines on the upper half of the displays), it now only shows black, except for some bad pixels. The backlight turns on, in mirror mode everything shows as intended, diode shows blue, flashing appears to work. I’ve reinstalled Windows 10, tried latest Piplay as well as older, pulled out other displays, pulled out and reinserted USB, tested 1920*1080 mode etc. to no avail. The only thing I haven’t tested yet is using the hacked FW, only because I haven’t figured out which one it is.
Several threads appear to have resolved similar issues, but I haven’t found a good answer to how in several of them.
Any tips on what I’m missing or is it possibly a hardware issue?
Interesting… Have you considered that the cables that are attached at the hmd end are seated properly? You have obviously done the pc end! And you do have back light just no image.
I’m free now this evening and during the day tomorrow and am rather flexible with when I could be available the rest of the week (time zone CET, GMT+1).
Currently, I have the following installed:
HMD FW: 1.0.0.265
PiPlay: 1.2.93
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 970 Windforce, driver version 388.13
OS: Windows 10 64bit
Regarding photos, not sure what to take a photo of, it’s black except for the dead pixels.
@Enopho
Good suggestion. The cables look ok the HMD end, I can’t see any damage on the outside. I have not opened it though and didn’t intend to do so either as I assume it would void any warranty.
