I am wondering if anyone has idea’s on this one. I have a PiMax 5k XR I recently picked up used. I have a couple of systems capable of VR, one has a Evga 2080 XC in it and the Pimax seems to work with that, another has an Asus GTX 1080 and it works there too but I have a 3rd with an ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 O8G and no matter which display port I plug into, the Pimax light stays red, no video, Pitool won’t recognize it. The 5k was flashed to the latest firmware and I believe I have the latest version of Pitool on all 3. I also have a rift S which works fine on all 3 PC’s so it’s hard to fault the GPU if it works with the S.
The ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 O8G was one I bought “renewed” on prime day and like I said works fine in all other instances.
I have latest drivers on all 3, I also have a PiMax 4k BE (OLED SN 102xxx) that works fine on all 3, it just seems this combo of that card and the 5k are unhappy and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions before I start sending things back as it is a mystery to me why this would happen.
I have a MSI RTX 2080 gaming board, and the pimax wouldn’t work, but it drained almost all my resourses to the point if I tried to type something, it would lag so bad it hardly was worth trying. Unplugged the unit, and back to normal. Also slowed down tremendously for opening web sites. Everything else works fine just like in your case. Wonder who else is having the same issue.
I have an MSI RTX 2080 “Gaming X Trio” card. I’m using nVidia 436.15 drivers and PiTool .180. I don’t seem to have a problem. I wonder: What is causing your issue?

Absolutely. I even asked the guys at Xidax who builds my unit, and they said the MSI RTX 2080 gaming card would be no problem at all for what I have. So I’m sure in my case, the headset being defective also drew a lot of resources whereas it normally wouldn’t.
