Well, as much as I like Pimax I don’t think it’s a quality control issue. I think they have been fiddling with with specs. I think they released that the headset in it’s original form was going to take too many sales away from the 8K+ and needed to dampen it down.
OK, I’ll put a ticket in to Pimax saying my FOV is not 140 degrees and lets see what they come back with - I can tell you now I’ll just get a load of waffle about perception, actual, theoretical, real, face shape, foam … At best, they will say send the headset back knowing I wont as that would mean being without a headset for potentially 3 months.
Just want to add, I’m overall very happy with my Artisan given the price point - it’s just I find it interesting what has gone on here and feel a bit of responsibility to other potential customers to let them know that they are not going to get 140 FOV.
