Feel like there’s so much talk everywhere it’s hard to find all the reviews.
In a few hours, in Spanish, in “Real o Virtual”
Tip: it’s a good device.
Awesome! Especially the spoiler. I will vhavevto wait for a translation or use google on a text review.
really really hope you got to try something more then just fruit ninja!
I’ll write a detailed review later but a short preview is that the v3 did improve the distortion but there are still a couple minor issues. The team is working hard on the software side but there’s still a ways to go. A big issue is that both the v2 and v3 are only running at 75hz right now. The team said they have some supply chain issues to sort out and that they know people are expecting 90hz but they can’t do that right now. I tried elite dangerous, project cars 2, eleven table tennis and onward and all looked great, but the lower framerate was noticeable. I also noticed the brightness didn’t seem quite as good as rift. The team said that can be adjusted but they weren’t able to do it on that laptop while I was there.
If the team hasn’t (presume they probably have) use a desktop as the laptop might be limiting output.
Thanks evertec!
Noticeable lower framerate, that makes me worry
Would having a desktop with i7700, 32 ram, 1080 video card improve that or is it really a limitation of the current tech in the pimax?
A small group of us are planning on pledging for 5 of the pimax 8k full packages, it’s something we are most likely doing but trying to get as much info as possible since it’s such a big purchase. I was about to do it two days ago when one of the guys said hold on, we haven’t really seen much review of anything except fruit ninja.
I have faith in Pimax but I’d really like to know more about it’s performance with AAA games
tks again for your review info!
Keep in mind that only v3 & driver optimization will likely like vid cards yield better results with maturity.
Supply chain? Hope they are not talking about there display supplier .
It sounded like something with the display board, the scaler chip that was previously mentioned as the reason they couldn’t do full 4k on each panel. The ceo said the specs say it can run at 90hz 4k but they haven’t gotten it to work at 90 with the 2x 1440p they’re running on the 8k
Did he say what they are going to do about it? Also not rushing you but ,how about that review ?
That sounds like a pretty big problem. I hope they can resolve that before it ships, but I’m not sure how they would be able to short of going to a different chip; and that may not even be an option
same here…
and not sure about delivery on time …in 2/3 months
it sounds more time they need to get it right !!!
- waiting next year if we could have vive 2 …etc
not saying pimax is not a good choice
but we could have better one…
This right here is one of several reasons I decided to wait and see rather than commit to the Kickstarter. There could very well be another better headset coming soon after the Pimax 8k based on the currently in the works development happening in the VR industry. I would be just fine with being wrong on this one and buying a Pimax a few months after others get theirs. I just couldn’t commit to another $500 preorder risk right now.
Cool , When I recive my 8K Pimax I’m not going to watch your gaming Vive YT channel anymore
Interesting your coments about windows mixed reality headset being similar in PPD. Just watched a review of the lenovo headset. He claims it to be the best headset yet. Streets ahead of Rift.
At the moment, we only have this about the v3 prototype:

I’m backer, now.
Did it say that they paid somebody off? Or am I miss reading?
