Is the free additional face cushion made of leather? I think it’s essential for Pimax to offer a leather face cushion to its supporters. We all know how sweaty it gets, please offer this to prevent the sweat from getting absorbed into the cushion and make it easy for us to wipe down after a session.
That would have to be an eco leather as for me

I guess that’s an option, but I don’t see why it has to specifically be Eco leather when PU would works just fine. Like this Vive replacement cushion.

Yeah i dont really like the feel of foam on my face, especially when it start soaking up sweat, i do hope there will be other types beside the regular foam, i ask them on kickstart but they said they will have to get back to the question.
I agree I only use PU Leather memory foam cushions. Please do use this option if not I will have to buy them from VRcovers when available. I don’t like traditional foam used on headsets.
The best foam in the Oculus CV 1 is in stock in my opinion.
It is soft and pleasant to the face, it is easily erased and quickly dried. It’s better for hygiene than dripping sweat into lenses in dynamic games. Such a pillow for the face will absorb and it’s the good.
On the protoipes in the video, a similar lining.
A foam from the skin is not very pleasant to the face, pressed and leave a trace, firm.
Better soft, as in the Oculus CV 1, but only not as thick as in the 4K pimax.
I personally hate the og oculus foam the smell gave me headaches. Im sure it would have passed but I couldnt stand it.
Keep in mind folks if your crafty you could get foam of your choice cut & stitch desired cover on.
Or… Make a fitted cover with material of choice like a fitted sheet
Do you want something really interesting? It would be great to design an inflatable cushion. This will add an options to vary the density (comfort) and thickness (distance to the lenses).
What kind of smell, you wash it then tried it at least once?
Personally, I have a cushion Oculus CV 1 always had a pleasant smell after washing.
Learn to wash personal hygiene items and there will be happiness

Would be nice to have a choice if possible. I like the PU leather ones as well for demoing to other people, but overall for myself I prefer the 10mm velour facepad from VRcover

Yes, it will be the most correct option - a choice that everyone likes. Then no one will worry about it.
The great thing about face foam is there are many non oem options

I think we’ll have to settle for foam now and wait for more choices later. Funny though, at the NY VR expo I got to try a lot of different VR HMD’s. Everyone of those vendors used wipes after each person… All except Pimax.
My buddy getting ready to try the Pimax 8K for the first time… he looks like the “burglar” from McDonalds.

That’s true and that’s a great thing too! I have 3 different types for my Vive, and I will probably experiment with different ones for Pimax too.

I know some of our 4k users are using ones i think made for vive.
it would be great if its the same as the vive ones since i already own some, but i wonder how it would fit if its wider FOV wise, wouldnt the headset be wider making the face mask area wider too? or its just the outside part thats away from the face thats way wider but the part that attaches to the face is the same size?
