8K, 5K, 4K SDE comparison

Agreed. Don’t forget how much money went into developing the rift and the Vive. They gotta sell these units for now. Brining a new HMD to the market that makes the old one completely obsolete will cost them dearly.
Pimax on the other hand is no threat to them right now. We are talking about 6k headsets realistically not more until mid 2018. This is nothing to them.

Pimax will ramp up production later but I doubt they will sell hunderts of thousands of HMDs. The price is too high for that in my opinion. I bet we will see windows mixed reality headsets for 300 incl. controllers or even 250 bucks sooner or later.
Less FOV and resolution for sure but people buy that because it is affordable.

The good thing: That stuff is SteamVR compatible meaning more games we can enjoy with the Pimax.
While I have zero interest in a cheap low FOV headset we need to praise them for making the audience bigger. This makes developing VR games financially viable.

Interesting statement from @mixedrealityTV about the SDE between Oculus Go and 5K+.

Regarding SDE as an owner of OC Go and 4K the 8K seems the only way to go.
In combination with enormous trust in the software development of Pimax.

I like how 8K is still listed as 90Hz. But no, some still deny that they ever gave us the wrong ambiguous impression in any way whatsoever.

Why would they update this graphics?
