Hello,

I have a few questions about the new list of “additional products”:

  1. As about the “10m cable x1” position, I wonder whether that position is only about the video or also about the power cable. Would I get it on January with my HMD?

  2. I wonder if when I buy base stations by adding 150+10$ to my pledge, will I get the HMD on January and the basestations on February, separately, or both on February?

  3. You present the photo of the first version of the controllers. I wonder whether if I get your controllers, will I get them on the February and if they’ll be the controllers similar to the knuckles?

You have also wrote on KS that estimated time of VR frame/cooling fan is the second Quarter of 2018. So I will get them later, after getting my HMD?

  1. The function of 10m is the same as 5m. In order to meet the requirements, we have added a longer cable option. We’ll try to ship with the headset.
  2. You may choose to they ship together or separately.
  3. We will update controller tomorrow.
    VR frame/cooling fan–Yes, you will get them later.

Hi @Matthew.Xu, I have a question for you:

  1. Do I have to buy 2x $60 + 2x $10 as a 8K X Backer for two 10m cables, when 8K X uses two cable?
  2. Is the 10m DisplayPort cable somehow ‘special’ by any means? Or is it just regular active 10m DisplayPort cable?

@DavidVR, I think that the 10m cable is the DP cable, and 8K X uses two HDMI cables. But might be wrong about it.

I also wonder whether the DP cable, which Pimax offers, is somehow special. I suspect it might be, as the image the HMD sends is 4K and some DP cables support HD resolution only. ([EDIT]: it is dp 1.4 standard)

I think that @brian91292 noticed an interesting thing. If you could send the 10m cable on January, I’d prefer to get it for lower price and to not get the 5m cable. But I know tere might be no time for such decisions :stuck_out_tongue:.

@Matthew.Xu, Is the DP cable a power cable at once? If not, I wonder if the power cable you deliver is 10 meters as well?

Just to hopefully to please urgently clarify as I have same need:

I’m a 8kx full set backer. I also want the 10m dp or hdmi cables (if avaliable), order the 4k headset extra, hand tracker module and also the inside out tracker addon module to Canada for my 1080ti sli, am I in for the following?

Currently pledging $999 + 50 shipping
= $1049 full 8k x pckg

Addons wanting: (making a new pledge total)

10 meter dp or hdmi cable ($60 + $10 shipping = $70 total - hoping 8kx backers get two (hdmi or dp whichever needed) and hopefully one dp for additional 8k headset bought)

  • Hand tracker ($100 +10 shipping)= $110 total

  • 8K headset ($499) (there’s no shipping cost as per 8kx cost option pimax forum post)

  • inside out tracking (is it like like Microsofts room tracking from headset) no idea how much that totals or if its avaliable for backers yet???

Totals $1049 + $70 (10m cable) + $110 hand trkr + $499 (8k headset) and not sure inside out addon cost

So totals $1728 USD all in??? (but not including if inside out tracker addon is avaliable) is that correct?

Is the inside out module also avaliable and if yes how much do I need to add on top?

So I already had to pay $579 for a single 8k headset, not full package. I changed it to $649 (added $70) so I’ll get the 10m cable now right…?

Hi @Matthew.Xu, so have you found out anything about 10m DP cables working on 8K X HMD? I wonder if I should buy them, spending $140 just for cables :grin:, but Wireless Module for 8K X won’t be any time soon, so those cables might be our (for 8K X Backers) only chance to play beyond 5 meters from PC. My only concern is whether:

  1. Will they work with 8K X HMD?
  2. Should I buy two of them for 8K X?
  3. Will I get any discount for buying two of them?

Yes, 8KX needs two 10M cables, the 10M cable is function as same as the 5M cable. Thank you
